Challenge

Radeus Labs builds custom, form-fit-function hardware across three specialized lines of business. As the company grew, its sales, marketing, and support tools grew separately too, each living in its own system. That made it difficult to see a customer's full journey from first contact to a closed deal, slowed down sales qualification, and left leadership without the visibility needed to forecast accurately or scale support alongside the business.

Results

Orange Marketing transformed Radeus Labs' fragmented operations into one connected system, powered entirely by HubSpot across Sales Hub, Marketing Hub, and Service Hub. Sales now follows a standardized qualification process built on Radeus Labs' own rules. Marketing has full visibility into a lead's journey from first touch to close. Support runs through a system built for warranty, RMA, and technical service work. Together, it gives Radeus Labs better cross-team collaboration and a single, scalable platform built to grow with the business.

About Radeus Labs

Radeus Labs' three lines of business, SATCOM, Compute, and Recording, serve customers ranging from government and military programs to demanding high-performance computing operations and environments, the kind of buyers for whom failure isn't an option and whose requirements are rarely standard. Many of those relationships move through a long (15+ month), competitive contract bidding before a single unit ships.

The Challenge

Radeus Labs' three lines of business reflect a structure common across manufacturers serving multiple markets, but the tools running them grew separately: SATCOM sales opportunities lived in one CRM (Close CRM), email contacts lived in Constant Contact, and customer support ran through Jira Service Management, a tool built more for developers than for warranty and spare-parts requests.

Radeus Labs had a HubSpot account already, though it hadn't yet been built out, so there was no way to see a lead's journey from first contact to a closed deal, or to forecast and scale support with confidence as the business grew.

Leadership knew exactly what they wanted their sales process to accomplish. They just weren't sure how to translate that into HubSpot themselves, and a generic, out-of-the-box CRM setup was never going to give this business the functionality it needed. CEO Juliet Correnti brought in Sharon Spooler, CEO of Surgo Consulting, to help guide the effort. Sharon recommended Orange Marketing, a HubSpot Diamond Partner, to build the overarching HubSpot implementation across Sales Hub, Marketing Hub, and Service Hub.

The Solution

Sales Hub

Orange Marketing consolidated Close CRM's SATCOM pipeline and Constant Contact's email list into one HubSpot instance, then worked directly with Radeus Labs' leadership to translate their sales process into HubSpot's native pipeline tools.

The result is a pipeline with stages named for Radeus Labs' internal process: Prospecting, Position & Align, Design & Validate, Keys to Success, Award (Waiting on PO), and Secure (PO in Hand). Design & Validate reflects how Radeus Labs sells, bringing engineers into customer conversations alongside sales so a deal is validated technically, not just commercially.

The final two stages track a purchase-order-driven sales cycle that can run for months, a rhythm common to manufacturers and unlike a typical software sales process. Each stage is governed by conditional logic rules that create consistency around how deals are qualified, ensuring the right information is captured along the way, including:

  • Customer pain points
  • Primary business driver
  • Close date
  • Next steps

Conditional cards on every deal record show managers exactly what's been completed and what hasn't, at a glance, protecting the sales forecast from the inflation that happens when deals move forward before they're ready.

Quotes are generated in the same system, tied directly to the deal and contact record, so pricing lives alongside the rest of a customer's sales history instead of in a separate tool.

Marketing Hub

newsletterRadeus Labs sells into a narrow, technical, largely defense- and aerospace-adjacent market that doesn't respond to typical demand-generation tactics, so Orange Marketing set up a content engine in HubSpot: pulling Radeus Labs' existing blog content over from WordPress and building it out into a weekly blog, a regular newsletter, and quarterly ebooks and pillar pages tied to SEO across all three lines of business.

Lifecycle stages now track every lead from first touch through Marketing Qualified Lead, Sales Qualified Lead, and opportunity, visibility into the funnel that simply didn't exist before.

Monthly website traffic has grown roughly tenfold since, from a few hundred visits early on to a consistent 1,000-plus sessions today.

conference thank youMonthly industry trade shows and conferences are an important way Radeus Labs generates new leads and stays in front of existing customers and vendors. Orange Marketing built a repeatable process around every stage of a show:

  • Before: importing and segmenting attendee lists
  • During: capturing leads on-site
  • After: nurture sequences, lead scoring, and recap content

Service Hub

Radeus Labs' support team handles exactly what a hardware manufacturer's post-sale support has to: RMA and warranty tracking tied to serial numbers, and technical service tickets for mission-critical equipment. Orange Marketing rebuilt that entire workflow (not a generic ticketing template) natively in HubSpot Service Hub, running it in parallel with the existing Jira setup before cutover so there was no disruption to live customer support.

The rebuild solved Radeus Labs' most persistent pain points directly: what took multiple steps to merge duplicate tickets in Jira now takes three clicks, and automated first-response and resolution emails keep customers informed without adding to the support team's workload.

Systems connected: Constant Contact, Jira Service Management, WordPress, Google/Outlook Calendar, Teams/Zoom, all now working through one HubSpot instance.

The Results

All deals are now tracked in a single HubSpot pipeline. These deals used to be split across a separate CRM, with no shared visibility across the team.

Conditional logic built into the pipeline creates consistent deal qualification across the sales team, improving data quality and giving Radeus Labs' leadership a sales forecast they can trust.

Roughly 1.3K marketing qualified leads have moved through HubSpot's lifecycle stages since implementation; leads Radeus Labs previously had no way to track from first contact to close.

HubSpot for Manufacturing

The result is a more connected operation, greater visibility into customer relationships, and a platform designed to scale with the business.

FAQs

Can HubSpot handle a sales cycle that runs 12–15+ months and is driven by purchase orders, not typical software deal stages?

Yes. HubSpot's pipeline stages are fully customizable, so they can be built around how a manufacturer really sells rather than a generic SaaS funnel. In Radeus Labs' case, stages were renamed to match their real process (Prospecting, Position & Align, Design & Validate, Award, Secure), with the final stages built specifically to track the PO-driven rhythm common in manufacturing.

We sell multiple product lines to different markets. Can one HubSpot instance manage that without the data turning into a mess?

Yes, through pipelines, properties, and lifecycle stages tailored per line of business. Radeus Labs runs three distinct lines (SATCOM, Compute, Recording) through a single HubSpot instance while still keeping each line's data and reporting separate.

Can HubSpot replace our separate CRM, email tool, and ticketing system, or do we end up managing four tools instead of one?

It can consolidate them into one platform. Radeus Labs went from Close CRM (sales), Constant Contact (email), and Jira Service Management (support) to a single HubSpot instance covering Sales Hub, Marketing Hub, and Service Hub, with full visibility from first contact to closed deal.

Our sales process involves engineers validating a deal technically, not just a rep and a price quote. Does HubSpot account for that?

Yes, through conditional logic and required fields at each stage. Radeus Labs built a "Design & Validate" stage specifically so engineers are looped into deals alongside sales, and conditional cards show managers exactly what's been technically validated versus what's still outstanding.

Can HubSpot track warranty claims and RMAs tied to serial numbers, or is it only built for generic support tickets?

HubSpot Service Hub can be built out for this rather than run on a generic ticketing template. Radeus Labs rebuilt its entire RMA and warranty workflow natively in Service Hub, tied to serial numbers, running it in parallel with Jira before cutover so live support wasn't disrupted.

Our market is niche and technical (defense/aerospace-adjacent). Does HubSpot marketing work for audiences like this, or is it built for high-volume consumer demand gen?

It can work well for narrow technical markets when the content strategy fits the audience. Radeus Labs built a weekly blog, newsletter, and quarterly ebooks and pillar pages tied to SEO instead of high-volume campaigns, and grew monthly site traffic roughly tenfold as a result.

Can HubSpot help with trade shows, capturing leads on-site and following up afterward, or is that still a manual process?

Yes, HubSpot can support the full trade show lifecycle: importing and segmenting attendee lists beforehand, capturing leads on-site, and running nurture sequences, lead scoring, and recap content afterward. This matters for manufacturers, since trade shows are often a primary lead source.

How disruptive is migrating from tools like Jira, Close, or Constant Contact into HubSpot? Will we lose visibility into active deals or support tickets during the switch?

A phased migration limits disruption. Radeus Labs' support system ran in parallel with Jira before fully cutting over, and sales data was consolidated from Close CRM and Constant Contact into HubSpot through a structured migration rather than a hard cutoff.

How do we stop our sales forecast from being wrong because reps push deals forward before they're ready?

Conditional logic can require specific fields, such as pain points, business driver, close date, and next steps, before a deal can advance, so forecasts reflect deals that are genuinely qualified. This directly reduces forecast inflation for Radeus Labs' leadership.

Merging duplicate support tickets takes forever in our current system. Can that be fixed?

Yes, this is a common friction point when support tools weren't built for a manufacturer's workflow. Rebuilding the ticketing process natively, rather than using a generic template, took ticket merging from multiple steps down to three clicks for Radeus Labs.

Leadership can't see a lead's full journey from trade show or first contact through to a signed PO. Is that fixable without a big system overhaul?

Lifecycle stage tracking (lead to MQL to SQL to opportunity) inside one platform solves this without requiring separate BI tools. Radeus Labs moved roughly 1,300 leads through tracked lifecycle stages that previously had no visibility at all.
